Our wonderful doctors serve the Whitefish community and surrounding area in all aspects of eye health and vision care with compassion and outstanding service. They strive to meet and exceed eye care needs - from infant to golden ages. The Whitefish Eye Center aims to provide each patient with an experience worthy of your trust and referral.




Dr. Michelle Botner - Optometrist


Dr. Botner received her Bachelor of Science from the University of South Dakota while on a swimming scholarship and her Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University College. She has been practicing Optometry in the Flathead Valley since 2010. Dr. Botner is a North Dakota native and is happy to work and play in Montana. She enjoys coaching the local swim team and enjoying the great outdoors with her family in her free time.



Dr. Abretia Olson - Optometrist


Dr. Olson was born and raised in our beautiful Flathead Valley. She attended the University of Montana, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance. She then received her Doctorate of Optometry from Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Dr. Olson completed extensive dry eye treatment and management training at Bowden Eye Center in Jacksonville, Florida. She loves getting to know her patients, and caring for them as if they are her own family. Dr. Olson is proud to be able to offer the highest quality technology, diagnostic tools, products and eye care treatments to our patients. She is glad to be back providing care to her home community and serving all of your eye care needs.


Dr. Madison McClure - Optometrist


Dr. McClure received her Doctor of Optometry from Arizona College of

Optometry at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. She completed advanced

clinical training through rotations across the country in both primary care and ocular

disease. Her clinical experience included extensive experience in management in dry eye and ocular surface disease, as well as a focus on ocular disease and surgical-co management. She is proud to provide comprehensive and patient-centered care. Dr. McClure has special interests in dry eye disease, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, in addition to providing comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages. She is passionate about building lasting relationships with her patients and delivering high-quality, personalized eye care to improve quality of life through better vision and eye health. Originally from Wyoming, Dr. McClure earned her Bachelor of Science in Energy Resources Development and Management from the University of Wyoming. Prior to pursing optometry, she worked as a project manager in environmental consulting. She is excited to move back to the Mountain West and looks forward to enjoying all that the Montana outdoors have to offer with her Husband and two dogs, Jax and Rudy!

Retired  Dr. Kurt Blades - Optometrist


Dr. Blades attended Montana State University for his undergraduate work and received his doctorate with honors in Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry. Dr. Blades grew up in the Flathead Valley and, in his free time, enjoys following and supporting local sports teams, biking, hiking, skiing, and being an active member of the community. After serving our community at the Whitefish Eye Center for 36 years, Dr. Blades has retired. You will still see him around town volunteering his time helping the wonderful youth of Whitefish.
